Green Mountain College is a small environmental liberal arts college located in Vermont’s beautiful Lakes Region and less than 40 minutes from Vermont’s premier ski resort, Killington Mountain. The campus sits at the intersection of College Street and Main Street in Poultney.
The Green Mountain state ranks as the healthiest and best-educated state in the country, and #3 for “most livable.” It also has the highest percentage of businesses that practice the triple bottom line of people, planet and profit. All of which makes Vermont the perfect spot to spend the next four years of your life. As an undergraduate student at GMC, you’ll join a tight-knit campus community of 575 students from 23 states and 19 countries. Most of them live on campus. Whether it is sharing a meal at a round table in our dining hall or starting a spirited discussion online, good conversations happen here.
In the Middle of it All.
No matter how much we love Poultney, we get the urge to get away—to find a mall, go skiing, or see a film or concert. Fortunately, that’s all within an easy drive of campus. Killington’s world-class ski resort is about 40 minutes away. The Adirondack Mountains in New York State offer limitless opportunities for hiking, cross-country skiing, mountain biking and more. Great shopping towns like Burlington and Middlebury, Vt., and Queensbury, N.Y., are less than an hour and a half away. Boston, New York, and Montreal are all within reach by car, bus, or train.
