Anna Whitcomb Knight '71
Anna Whitcomb Knight is the past principal and owner of Career Choices in Belmont, Mass., where she provided career counseling and advising for clients on all aspects of career choice. Her work experience includes job counseling and advising for Resource Partnership and Cole Resource Center at McLean's Hospital in Belmont, and at Lesley University, where she helped place students from the Threshold Program into internships and employment opportunities. Currently Anna is providing private individual career counseling at her now Cambridge office.
She has held personnel and staffing positions in the U.S. Attorney's Office in Boston; the U.S. Office of Personnel Management; the U.S. Office of Housing and Urban Development and the U. S. Peace Corps. As a returned Peace Corps volunteer who served in the Philippines, and an active member of the Peace Corps community, Anna is a member of the New England International Donors Group and board member of Kironde Education and Health Fund, which supports children in Uganda. She also participates in community activities with groups including UNICEF, the League of Women Voters, On the Rise (a safe haven for homeless women in Cambridge, Mass.) and the Massachusetts Audubon Society. She is past president of Friends of McLean Hospital, Friends of the Belmont Library, and LWV Belmont and has served as a board member with the National Peace Corps Association and the Career Counselors Consortium in Boston as well as the Mt. Auburn Hospital Auxiliary and Hospital Board.
Anna earned her AA in Liberal Arts at Green Mountain College in 1971. She also holds a BS in Human Development from the University of Vermont and a MPA and CAGS in Counseling from Suffolk University. Anna lives in Harvard Square, Cambridge with her husband Sam.
