Barbara brings 30 years of corporate and agency experience to her client's communications programs, currently as senior counsel at Ryan Wellnitz & Associates. She has provided public relations counsel, launched new products, developed marketing communications programs, done extensive business writing, and conducted media campaigns for financial service organizations, professional services firms, and medical device, manufacturing and high-tech companies. Her clients have ranged from startup to multinationals. From 2003-2009 she was chair of the board of trustees for Green Mountain College, where she chaired the presidential search committee in 2002. Earlier she served as president of the Green Mountain College Alumni Board. She earned her A.A. degree in liberal arts from GMC, a B.A. in English from Upsala College, and a CSS graduate diploma in management and administration from Harvard University. She received the Distinguished Alumni Award from GMC in 2011. Barbara has served as president of the public relations division of a New England advertising agency and vice president/group manager of the business-to-business practice for the New York-based Creamer Dickson Basford (now Magnet Communications). Prior to her agency tenure, Barbara was manager of systems and services publications at the Foxboro Company (now Invensys). She serves on the boards of the Harvard Club of Cape Cod, Brewster Ladies Library, and League of Women Voters of Cape Cod. Barbara is an accredited member (APR) of the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA), past-president of the Boston chapter of PRSA, and a member of PRSA's Counselors Academy. She was elected to the PRSA College of Fellows in 2005 and received the Beacon Award for lifetime achievement from the Boston chapter of PRSA in 2009.
