Perez Erich of Arlington, Vt., served as vice-president of Watering Incorporated, which published Hemmings Motor News and related publications. He attended high school in Arlington and received his A.B. degree from Harvard College, his Juris Doctor degree from New York Law School, and his LL.M. degree in corporate law from New York University School of Law. At New York Law he was editor-in-chief of the Law Review and graduated as class valedictorian. He served as an active-duty artillery captain in Vietnam from 1968-70.
After his Army service, Perez worked as an attorney specializing in finance, mergers and acquisitions with several New York law firms. He was a partner at Townsley & Updike (1978-1995) and Dorsey & Whitney (1996-97). Now retired, Perez has served as a director or trustee of many local civic organizations including the Bennington Museum, Friends of Hildene, the Institute for Sustainable Communities, Vermont Law School, Vermont Public Radio and the Vermont Symphony Orchestra.
