Electronic portfolios at Green Mountain College allow students to collect and present their work. The audience is limited only by a student’s imagination, but can include faculty, other students, future employers, friends, and family. These portfolios are available to students after they graduate. Employers and graduate schools are increasingly interested in seeing samples of student work. Parts of the portfolio will also be accessed by Green Mountain faculty in order to assess student learning and as a tool to evaluate our programs.
Electronic: Using or involving the storage or transmission of information by electronic means; carried out or performed using electronic devices or computers.
-Oxford English Dictionary
Portfolio: A selection of artwork, reproductions, etc., contained in such a case. Hence: a collection of samples of a person's work, typically intended to convey the quality and breadth of his or her achievement in a particular field. -Oxford English Dictionary
