In the theater minor at GMC you’ll learn to think critically about societal issues through actual performance.
Theater entertains at the same time it serves as a vehicle for social change, challenging people to think critically about society. At GMC, the goal of the theater arts program is to do both through several main stage productions and special performance events throughout the academic year. Students have the chance to collaborate with professional actors, and to direct productions themselves.
The GMC Theater Arts Program offers two concentrations: performance and literature. Students complete these areas of study with the opportunity for practical experience in the field both on and off stage. Students study plays as “living literature,” with the objective of demonstrating the ability to understand and analyze dramatic literature and its important role in our society.
