Green Mountain College is a small school with a big mission—preparing students for productive careers and fulfilling lives through a liberal arts education that emphasizes environmental responsibility.

GMC is different from most colleges because environmental awareness is included in every aspect of a liberal arts education. We call it the Environmental Liberal Arts Curriculum. It's field-based, interdisciplinary and service-oriented, and it produces engaged citizens ready to tackle complicated issues.

Our close-knit community of 900 students lives and learns on one of the most beautiful campuses in New England. At GMC you'll have a choice of 20 major programs, and you'll be part of a diverse student body representing 33 states and 11 foreign countries.

We invite you to check out the Why GMC? link at left, which will give you a feel for what it's like to be a student here. We also hope these pages will answer practical questions like when to apply, requirements for admission, and how to visit.

Green Mountain College is now a test optional school. To read more about our test optional policy, click here.
