alison Putnam

Major/Year: History/Secondary Education + Progressive Program, Senior

Hometown: Bennington, N.H.

Favorite place to hang out in the area: The Station for Sunday morning breakfast and homework; the top of the hill at the Poultney Cemetery on nice days to write and think

Favorite books: The Poisonwood Bible by Barbara Kingsolver; Beloved by Toni Morrison; A People's History of the United States by Howard Zinn

Sports, Clubs, Activities you are involved in: Farm Crew

Favorite movies: I don't have any favorites.

Best class you have ever taken at GMC: History of the American West with Andrew Duffin; Ethnoecology with Mark Dailey; my many independent studies, and everything I did when I studied abroad at Brunnenburg Castle.

Favorite activity on a Saturday afternoon: Reading

Best part about Vermont: Fall foliage, lots of small local farms, and great local beer

Favorite part about attending Green Mountain College: The small student to teacher ratio and the chance to form lasting relationships with faculty. As an upperclassman I consider some of my professors to be friends and co-workers as well as teachers.
