Author and naturalist Dr. Robert Michael Pyle will be the scholar in residence for the Master of Science in Environmental Studies program. Pyle is a lepidopterist (a specialist in the study of moths and butterflies) and a writer who has published twelve books and hundreds of papers, essays, stories and poems. He has also received a Guggenheim Fellowship, three Governor's Writer Awards, a Pacific Northwest Booksellers' Award, the Harry Nehls Award for Nature Writing, the National Outdoor Book Award for natural history literature and has a Ph.D. from the School of Forestry and Environmental Studies at Yale.

Dr. Anthony Cortese will be the scholar in residence for the Sustainable MBA program. A member of GMC's board of trustees, Anthony Cortese has been actively engaged in sustainability challenges for businesses and higher education for over 30 years. He has B.S. and M.S. degrees from Tufts University in civil and environmental engineering and a doctorate in environmental health from the Harvard School of Public Health.
