Men’s soccer enjoyed an undefeated week with a pair of double overtime thrillers. On Wednesday, the Eagles drew to a scoreless tie with NIAC rival Fisher before coming out on top against Northern Vermont University – Lyndon on Saturday, 2-1. Joe Grubb scored both Eagles’ goals in the win and Sawyer Levy provided the shutout Wednesday with six saves before making 10 stops to preserve the win on Saturday.
Women’s soccer missed two opportunities to garner its fourth win of the season. On Wednesday, the Eagles fell by a goal to Fisher in its NIAC conference match, 2-1. On Saturday, the women opened the scoring against Northern Vermont University – Lyndon, but could not hold on for the victory, falling 3-1. Avery Barber scored all three goals for the Eagles during the week with Maya Golowasch assisting on two of them.
Cross Country competed in its only mid-week meet of the season as it ran at the Bronco Classic on Wednesday. Luna Collins posted her fastest time of the year over 5K to lead the Eagles with a time of 22:59 which put her in fifth place overall among the 45 competitors. Birch Swart also posted his fastest time of the year over a 5K distance to lead the Eagles with a time of 18:25 which placed him in 14th spot overall among the 56 competitors. Swart beat his previous 5K personal best by nearly a minute from the season’s first race.
Women’s volleyball dropped its lone game of the week 3-1 to Northern Vermont University – Johnson on Saturday. The team battled to a 1-1 draw in the first two sets before falling in sets four and five. The Eagles were led by Thunder Williams who tallied 10 kills and 14 assists.
