Men's Soccer
The GMC Men's Soccer Team has enjoyed a great deal of success throughout its history, including three undefeated seasons and five trips to the NAIA national tournament. The men's soccer team reflects the college's strong international and domestic student population with current players from Uganda, Argentina, New York, Connecticut, Vermont, New Hampshire, Maine, New Jersey, Maryland and Wyoming.
Since its founding in 1982, the men's soccer team has had three undefeated regular seasons (1992, 1996 and 1998). The team has been the Mayflower Conference champions six times and Northeast Athletic Conference Champions once. At one stretch, the team competed in the NAIA Northeast Regional Tournament eight consecutive years in a row. Our men's team boasts over 20 All-Americans (including four Academic All-Americans), 5 Conference Players of the Year and over 30 All-New England or All-Region players. Many players have gone on to coach at the club, high school and collegiate level.
Coming off a rebuilding year, the 6-12 Eagles have their sights set on playing an entertaining style with a high level of athleticism, skill, discipline and class. 17 new players have committed to Green Mountain College for the fall of 2006. Areas of the country include that the incoming class hails from include; New York, Vermont, Maine, Connecticut, New Jersey, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Pennsylvania, Florida and Georgia.
