Green Mountain College's emphasis on both environment and the liberal arts integrates my own academic, professional and personal background. My career has included both instruction and instructional design in the arts and in the sciences. Work in the private sector included supervisory, administrative and budgeting responsibilities. For the past three decades I have been actively involved in environmental living, including close to ten years of homestead farming where I raised organic produce and dairy goats for milk, cheese and meat. Prior to my arrival at GMC, I conducted courses in Anatomy, Physiology, and Basic Medical Terminology at both the New England Center for Death Education at Mt. Ida College in Newton, Massachusetts and Community College of Rhode Island. I also instructed General Biology with Lab, Human Biology, Dimensions of Learning in Math and Sciences, and Drawing I at Community College of Vermont in Rutland. In the private sector, I served as Art Director and Medical Illustrator at Tufts University School of Medicine from 1983-1987 and at The Wilmer Eye Institute of The Johns Hopkins Hospital and The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine from 1979-1981.
