I learned a lot about building with nature in class last semester, and learned how to incorporate natural aspects into constructed environments. The UNILIVRE buildings were great examples of designing buildings to fit within the ecosystem around them. They turned the abandoned quarry into a pond for animals, they restored some of the forest that was cleared there, and they created a boardwalk through the jungle instead of a paved path. The buildings also fit the climate, circulate air, and are made from recycled materials.
