The Summer Farm Intensive is aptly named as it is both intellectually and physically intense. We welcome all applicants who are ready to work and study hard, and are eager to immerse themselves in sustainable agriculture.
Non-traditional students are encouraged to apply as are degree-seeking college students. As you fill out the online application, please add any extra information you think is pertinent. The essay is most important in terms of helping us decide who would be the best fit for the program.

Total enrollment in the program is capped at 16.
Tuition and Fees
Cost to students include tuition, room and board, and some food costs depending on current farm production. Students will each receive half of a CSA share and have access to any farm surplus and gleanings. Students who participate in milking (generally expected, but not required) will receive up to 1/2 gallon of milk per week.
GMC students may qualify for federal financial aid for the summer semester. Institutional grants and scholarships are not available for the summer farm intensive. Contact the student financial services office for more information.

Housing and Food
Students will be housed in the college residence halls, but will prepare and eat meals in the Solar Harvest Center which has a kitchen and indoor and outdoor dining space. Students are responsible for breakfast and dinner as well as weekend meals. Weekday lunches will be communal. Students will have access to farm food as well as a shared food budget. Weekday lunch preparation and clean-up of common areas will be part of the chore rotation.
