 Balepate: Gretchen Beck March 2 - April 10, 2009 “Balepate” features mixed media imagery from artist Gretchen Beck, chair of the art department at Concordia University in Irvine, Calif. Beck lived in the West African country of Niger for three years, and has returned five times to conduct research for her work. She has hosted shows at galleries including the Corcoran Gallery of Art in Washington D.C., the Central Gallery at The University of Massachusetts in Amherst and the UNESCO Miollis Galerie in Paris. |
