Leaving a Legacy: The Jesse Bogue Society
The Jesse Bogue Society recognizes individuals who have made a planned gift to Green Mountain College. Planned giving may be in the form of a bequest, retirement or life insurance beneficiary designation, charitable gift annuity, or IRA charitable rollover. To learn more about how you can include GMC in your planned giving and become a member of the Jesse Bogue Society, please contact Michele L. Almeida, Director of Alumni Director of College Advancement, at 802-287-8293 or michele.almedia[@]greenmtn.edu. If you have included the College in your estate plan, please let us know so we can add your name to the Jesse Bogue Society.
Meet Tracy Williams Haines ’78
Tracy balances a challenging job as assistant to the director of the Hood Museum of Art at Dartmouth College in Hanover, N.H., with a physically active life style. A former triathlete (she was a nationally ranked competitor for many years), Tracy loves living in the Connecticut River’s Upper Valley area, which affords plenty of opportunities for running, swimming, biking, snowshoeing and walking her two shelties, King Arthur and Bogie.
“I decided that one of the best ways I could give back to the school that gave me so much was to include GMC in my estate plans.”
She appreciates the fact that her father, now retired from a career at Cornell University, planned carefully and worked hard to put her and her two siblings though college. Tracy feels an acute sense of responsibility for how best to leave her own legacy. “It’s never too early to plan for the future and have your estate plan in place. I decided that one of the best ways I could give back to the school that gave me so much was to include GMC in my estate plans. I want to be sure future generations of students can have the same advantages that I had.”
