Monday, September 21: Stephanie Wissell and her horse R.U. Sirius will be performing a dressage exhibition on Moses Lawn at 1 p.m. Stephanie is a graduate of Meredith Manor College’s Riding Master program. She and Sirius will be performing a musical freestyle dressage test, followed by a short presentation. Contemporary dressage is featured in the Olympics and has its roots in ancient military training. It tests both horses’ and riders’ fitness and grace, and audiences today might think of it as ballet on horseback. The rain/mud date is Thursday, September 24, at 1 p.m. This exhibition is sponsored by the Animal Appreciation and Care club, the Equestrian club, the Speakers Bureau, the Animal Conservation and Care program, and the Philosophy Program. Please contact Heather Keith for more information.
