Adrian Suid, who identifies as transmasculine, was born in the US Virgin Islands and raised in Muslim culture in Jordan. He was taught from an early age how it was important to fit the profile of a “Muslim woman”, that higher education was unimportant, and that being gay was completely unacceptable. Adrian comes to tell his story at Green Mountain College of how he survived discrimination from those closest to him, and about his path that led him to be where he is today.
Adrian has graduated with an A.S in Computer Engineering and is currently employed as a Systems Administrator. Although Adrian is passionate about technology, he says he is most proud of building his own family and he feels fortunate to live in Vermont with the love of his life, where they are raising their teenage son.
This event is brought to you by the Wellness Center in conjunction with Pride Club and LGBTQ Week.
