An event every day that begins at 7:00pm, repeating until Saturday, November 11, 2017
The Crucible, written by the great American playwright and Pulitzer Prize winner, Arthur Miller, is based on the true account of the Salem witch trials in 1692 when 19 villagers were accused and hanged as witches, this play is a suspenseful recounting of one man’s tragic mistake which threatens the entire community. As cries of witchcraft ricochet though the Puritan village of Salem MA, no person is safe from the accusations made by a pack of teenage girls who claim to have special powers to see the Devil’s work. This gripping tale of fanaticism, fear and revenge in 17th century New England rings as true today as it did during the HUAC investigations in the 50’s when playwright Arthur Miller wrote his cautionary parable.
Performances will occur Thursday–Saturday, November 9th–11th at 7pm in Ackley Theater.
