Wilderness Challenge Leader Informational Meeting

Have you ever considered becoming a Wilderness Challenge Leader? Now is the time!

Below are all the details you need about the upcoming Wilderness Challenge Leader training course. This is our extended spring semester training, which consists of:

  1. Two nights in the GMAP office learning a little more about GMAP—our philosophy and educational model
  2. A three day orientation and familiarization with the outdoor and indoor ropes course
  3. A five-day, four-night expedition including canoeing; rock climbing; learning outdoor skills and teaching

The schedule for the training:

Informational Meeting: April 28th at 6PM in GreenMAP

GreenMAP Orientation Evening Sessions: May 1st & May 9th. Evenings from 6pm-9pm in GreenMAP

Challenge Course Orientation and Training: May 9th – 11th. Daily from 8am-12pm

Expedition: May 14th – 19th.

Attending the training allows individuals the opportunity to stay on campus during senior week and attend graduation. While on campus, meals are provided through Chartwells or the on campus activities. Students are expected to attend the GMC Fest Senior Week Activities when not participating in GMAP training sessions. The training will conclude in the afternoon of May 19th.
