Meet the Faculty

Dr. Jim Harding, Program Director
Dr. Jim Harding, an associate professor of natural resources management, joined the Green Mountain College faculty in 2003. He founded the College’s natural resources management program and teaches classes on subjects such as environmental ethics, forestry, public resources management and statistics.

In his research, Jim is interested in exploring the relationship between people and natural environments. He has published papers and made presentations on a variety of subjects; some recent topics include measuring environmental ethics, resource impacts and management, and forestland ownership changes in the Northeast. He holds a Ph.D. in Forestry from the University of Montana, Missoula; an M.S. in Forestry from University of Maine, Orono; and a B.A. from the University of Evansville, Indiana.
