Green Mountain College (GMC) has expanded its “Tuition Match” scholarship program to include Associate’s Degree graduates of community colleges from all of New England and New York.
As set forth in its Sustainability 2020 strategic plan, Green Mountain College challenges itself to strengthen community partnerships that enhance the social and economic sustainability of our region. GMC has been awarding a Tuition Match Scholarship to Graduates of Community College of Vermont (CCV) who meet our admissions standards and enroll full-time at GMC. Through this scholarship estimated at $20,500 annually, GMC matches the tuition levied by the University of Vermont. GMC is now pleased to expand the Tuition Match Scholarship to eligible graduates of all community colleges located in New England and New York. By working individually with New England and New York community college graduates to craft an educational plan that meets their particular needs, GMC is committed to helping qualified students to achieve a four-year undergraduate degree.
Green Mountain College has also expanded the Vermont Tuition Match scholarship program previously offered exclusively to Poultney High School graduates to include graduates of Fair Haven, Granville, Whitehall, and Hartford High Schools. Students who meet GMC’s admission standards and are enrolled at GMC full-time in 2018 will qualify for this scholarship estimated at $24,500 annually.
“More than 20 years ago, Green Mountain College became the first college in the nation to dedicate its curriculum to sustainability. We are committed to making our “first in sustainability” education affordable and these scholarships will not only provide significant funding to narrow the affordability gap for area students, they will help catalyze today’s students to ensure a more sustainable world for generations to come,” said Robert (Bob) Allen, President, Green Mountain College.
