My name is Asadullah Sohail and I am from Afghanistan. I was lost and had an uncertain future in Afghanistan. But I never give up on my dreams of getting a higher education. A lost boy, who did not know where he will end up, now knows his future. I came to United States through a very competitive scholarship called Youth Exchange and Study program in 2007. I continued my education in States and graduated from Lyndon Institute in 2009. Now I am senior at Green Mountain College and majoring in Sustainable Business and have two minors in Economics and Communications. Now Green Mountain College is my second home and family. I am certain you will have the same experience.
At the end of last semester I was elected as Student Body President. On behalf of the Student Government Association and the student body I would like to welcome all you lovely people who are interested to study at this unique, welcoming, friendly and academically rigorous institution. I have had the four best years of my life at Green Mountain College. I grew up at GMC. In here, I learned how to help and love others. I developed many leadership skills. GMC taught me how to fight and overcome the challenges of the 21st century. Now I am ready to go to the real world to make a difference, to bring changes, to help those in need, to touch hearts and lastly to live a happy and successful life. Coming to GMC is one of the best decisions that I have made in my entire life. It is the same with every single student at Green Mountain College. I encourage you to come to GMC and I strongly state that you will not regret it.
To my fellow GMC family, Student Senate is a bridge between student body, administration, faculty, staff and community. If you have concerns, opinions or if you need money to implement a project, come to the Student Senate. Student Senate meets every Sunday at 6pm in the Student Senate Office (Withey basement).
