From nationally-known speakers to art exhibits and band performances, campus is always busy with arts and culture events. The College’s performing arts department and other extracurricular programs offer many opportunities for students to get involved.
Performing Arts at GMC
All performing arts opportunities are open to any student enrolled at GMC. Programs include the College Choir, College and Community Concert Band, jazz band and private lessons in either instrumental or vocal studies.
The theater program invites students to audition for two mainstage productions annually, in addition to frequent student-directed or produced shows.
Feick Arts Center
The Feick Arts Center serves as the main art gallery on campus. The space, originally a carriage shed barn, hosts eight to 10 exhibits annually. The gallery has featured exhibits of painting, sculpture, environmental found art, photography, and mixed media, as well as international exhibits from Wales and Korea.
The Surdam Art Gallery hosts student shows throughout the academic year.
College Programming Board
This student-led group coordinates social and cultural programs at GMC. Membership is open to any students who would like to help review and select performers and events. Traditional events include the spring concert, weekend movies, hypnotists, musicians and comedians.
