R. Clarke Smith Emergency Loan Fund
The Board of Trustees of the College, to honor Mr. Smith, who had served on the Board for many years, established the R. Clarke Smith Emergency Loan Fund in 1994. The Vice President of Student Life administers the loan fund. Students may borrow up to $100 for emergency purposes and have up to two weeks to repay the loan before it must be paid back. The student's conduct history is reviewed before a loan is granted. A student is allowed one (1) loan per semester. The funds are usually dispersed to the students, but may also be made payable to a third party. It is at the Vice President's (or his/her designee's discretion) if the student is lent the money. Students interested in securing a loan should contact the Student Life Office in the lower level of Withey Hall or call at 8377.
