GMC Theater Presents Hit Comedy "Noises Off"
POULTNEY--The Green Mountain College Theater department will present the comedy "Noises Off" on March 27, 28 and 29 at 7 p.m. at the Clara Hitchcock Fitzpatrick Jones Concert Hall (Ackley Auditorium). Written by the English playwright Michael Frayn, the play is frequently called the funniest farce ever written. The cast of nine characters consists entirely of Green Mountain College students an alumnus Gordon Ells ’12, who plays the role of Lloyd Dallas.
The action begins with a manic menagerie of itinerant actors rehearsing a flop called "Nothing On." Doors slamming, on and offstage intrigue, and an errant herring all figure in the plot of this hilarious and classically comic play within a play.
"In some ways this is the largest show we've ever produced here," said GMC technical director Ben Jankowski, who co-directs the play with student Nora Alexander '14. "It's a three act physical comedy with a two-story rotating set."
The production is open to the public – admission is $10.
