Green Mountain College Appoints New Sustainability Coordinator
POULTNEY--Green Mountain College is pleased to welcome Bethany Clarke as the College’s new sustainability coordinator. Clarke has worked for the past four years in the sustainable energy industry. As an associate project manager for General Electric based in Schenectady, N.Y., she led a cross-functional team during the delivery, installation, and commissioning of 336 wind turbines valued at over $700 million. She received a GE Performance Award for wind projects in 2008.
Clarke graduated cum laude from Green Mountain College in 2007 with a B.A. in environmental studies. As a GMC student, she worked as an energy intern with Optimal Energy in Bristol, Vt. and as a research intern at Casella Waste Systems in Rutland, Vt.
Clarke replaces Amber Garrard who has accepted a position as sustainability project manager for outreach and engagement at Yale University.
Green Mountain College is an environmental liberal arts college with 700 undergraduate and graduate students. The College achieved climate neutrality this year.
