“From the Forest” to Open at GMC’s Feick Arts Center
POULTNEY, VT – Green Mountain College welcomes an exhibit titled “From the Forest,” by Pat Musick, to the Feick Fine Arts Center as part of Earth Week festivities on campus. The opening reception is Thursday, April 23, from 3:30-6 p.m. in the arts center and is free and open to the public. Refreshments will be served.
Musick lives and works in Manchester, Vt. Her works feature images of nests and are bronze and alabaster sculptures and clay drawings on handmade paper. In her artist statement, she writes that her art “is a reflection of the tensions that exist between mankind and the natural environment. It addresses the havoc that we have done to the natural world and the devastation that the natural world has wreaked upon mankind.” She seeks to find “ways to create harmony and reconciliation of this situation both in the media and the content.”
Musick’s work is on permanent display at locations including the Cornell University College of Human Ecology, the Arkansas Aerospace Education Center, and the International Center for Transportation Studies in Rome.
“From the Forest” will be on display from April 20 through May 16. The Feick Fine Arts Center is open to the public Monday through Friday from 1-5 p.m. There is no admission charge.
