GMC Welcomes New Director of Residence Life
POULTNEY, VT - Green Mountain College welcomes Christopher Marquart as the College’s new director of residence life. He comes to GMC after serving as assistant director of residence life at SUNY Canton.
After graduating in 2004 with a degree in history from SUNY Geneseo, Chris earned his master’s degree in education from St. Lawrence University in Canton. He also studied mechanical engineering at Kettering University in Michigan. As assistant director of residence life and orientation in Canton, he coordinated educational and social programs, developed a resident assistant recruitment and training program and designed a summer orientation program.
Chris also brings coaching and tutoring experience to GMC. He served as SUNY Canton’s head cross-country coach for several years and mentored low-income, high risk high school students as a counselor for Upward Bound.
Chris says he is “excited to join the Student Life team at Green Mountain College. I look forward to working collaboratively with the students to further develop the already amazing residential community that exists at GMC.”
As GMC’s director of residence life, Chris will oversee all residence hall operations and work with a team of assistant directors of residence life and student life staff to coordinate housing and social activities for students.
