Shakespeare Meets the Wild West in Latest GMC Stage Production
POULTNEY--The Green Mountain College Theater Department is presenting Shakespeare's comedy Twelfth Night with a new twist. The performance, directed by Blake Kyler '12, is Friday and Saturday, March 30-31 at 7 p.m. with a Sunday, April 1, matinee at 2 p.m. Tickets are free for students, staff and faculty, $5 for the general public. All performances will take place in the College's Ackley Theatre.
Widely regarded as Shakespeare's most perfect comedy, Twelfth Night follows the twisting paths, detours and bumps in the road that leads to love. This production takes place in the Wild West of the 1890's complete with gun slinging, whiskey toting outlaws and a cast of 14 students, including two recent GMC graduates. In addition, a live folk ensemble will be used to showcase music as the "food of love."
