Green Mountain College holds it annual commencement ceremony for undergraduate and graduate students on the Griswold Library Lawn. Past commencement speakers have included Vermont Governors Peter Shumlin and James Douglas; Vermont Rep. Peter Welch; U.S. Sen. Patrick Leahy; actor Sam Watterson; and NPR “Car Talk” host Ray Magliozzi.
2018 Commencement Ceremony – May 12th at 10 a.m.
The 2018 Commencement Ceremony will be held outside on the lawn in front of Griswold Library on Saturday, May 12, at 10 a.m. The ceremony will be live-streamed and available to view online and projected at an alternate physical location at Green Mountain College.
The 2018 commencement speaker and honorary degree recipient will be Mustafa Santiago Ali, Senior Vice President of Climate, Environmental Justice & Community Revitalization for the Hip Hop Caucus. Mr. Ali, who is renowned as a national speaker, trainer, and facilitator specializing in Social Justice issues focused on revitalizing our most vulnerable communities, will address members of the Class of 2018 and their families, Green Mountain College Trustees, alumni, faculty and staff. Following the ceremony there is a Commencement Lunch which is a held in the dining room.

Tickets and Reservations
Tickets are not required for attending the commencement ceremony. If weather requires the ceremony to take place indoors in the Waldron Athletics Center, we ask that no more than two people per student attend the ceremony so all students to have opportunity for some family or friends to participate.
