Sustainability faculty at Green Mountain College, Boston University and Oklahoma City University will host the Summer Sustainability Institute 2018, sponsored by the Global Education team at United Methodist General Board of Higher Education and Ministry.
The institute, a two-week, intensive, 3-credit course, is designed for undergraduate students at Methodist-related colleges and universities and will be held June 3 to 17, 2018. The theme is “Building Sustainable and Resilient Communities,” and will immerse students in environmental and social responsibility initiatives that could improve the bioregions specific to each student’s home area. Using examples of initiatives in Boston and Vermont, the students will explore ways they can design and implement sustainability initiatives in their own regions. Students will spend a week in Boston (at Boston University) and a week in Vermont (at Green Mountain College).
No religious affiliation is required. This is a great opportunity to learn how to build sustainability and resilience. If you have any questions, please contact Bill Throop, GMC Professor of Philosophy and Environmental Studies at throopw[at]greenmtn.edu.
