Labyrinths trace their roots back to some of the oldest cathedrals on earth. The campus labyrinth, located next to the Griswold Library, offers a space for prayer, meditation and centering. It incorporates the Green Mountain College love of the outofdoors into its very form.
GMC Chapel/Donchian Meditation Room
GMC dedicated and redesigned the chapel and Donchian Meditation Room in September of 2003, thanks to a generous donation from the Donchian Foundation. This sacred space is host to artwork inspired by a variety of religious traditions including Christian, Muslim, Jewish, Buddhist, Hindu, Taoist, Native American, Celtic and Egyptian. Chairs and meditation cushions grace the room. A special collection library as well as a sound system and a CD collection expressive of spiritcentered music, guided meditations and teachings, is available for use.
Meditation Space & Medicinal Garden
This special garden was designed and created as a part of several Delicate Balance projects by students. The garden is a sheltering space for quiet thought and contemplation, as well as a very tangible place where medicinal herbs and plants are grown for the good of the community.
Bogue Dance Movement Studio
The floor in Bogue Movement Studio was designed specifically to accommodate exercise and dance classes. This space currently hosts Shakti Tribal Dance classes and Open Dance Practice. Students are welcome to reserve the space for group activities such as Yoga or dance by contacting the Wellness Center.
