Kyle Callahan is an adjunct instructor in writing and communications. As a graduate of the Progressive Program at Green Mountain College, Kyle received his bachelor’s degree in Theories of Writing, a self-designed major that was a hybrid of philosophy, literature, and creative writing. Kyle followed that up with his master’s of fine arts degree in creative writing from Goddard College in Plainfield, Vermont, where he wrote an experimental novel centered around the secession of Vermont from the United States.
Along with his experiences in academia, Kyle has over a decade of professional experience working in advertising as a senior copywriter, project manager, and marketing specialist, all of which he uses to help communications students prepare for work after college. He also founded and edited One Forty Fiction, an online writing magazine dedicated to stories told in 140 characters or less. He now teaches full time at an independent school here in Poultney, where he helps middle and high school students pursue their interests and passions through hyper-individualized learning plans.
Originally from the north shore of Boston, Kyle lives in Poultney with his wife and daughter.
