The Green Mountain College Alumni Advisory Board (AAB) is seeking nominations for alumni willing to devote their time and talents to GMC. There are currently nine positions open, with preference given to alumni from classes of the 1970s, 1980s, 1990s, and 2010s and Master alumni. Alumni selected to fill these positions are representatives of the College and the alumni community.
The purpose of the AAB is to enhance the vibrancy of the College, sustaining among alumni the spirit of their shared experience, supporting the recruitment and retention of students, and assisting in fundraising and garnering financial support for GMC.
Please keep in mind that this is a working board; as a result, the ability to directly participate in committee work, events and activities will be given strong consideration. Alumni Board members are required to attend three board meetings per year on the GMC campus.
Nominees should demonstrate active involvement as an alumna/us in alumni activities (such as class reunions or regional events) or in the advancement of GMC (including volunteer programs of the college). Please also consider any experience the nominee has in leadership roles as a student or graduate of GMC.
Members are appointed based on his/her demonstrated involvement, support and commitment to Green Mountain College and to the goals of the AAB, and serve a renewable three-year term.
The Alumni Board exists to promote and maintain a lifelong, active relationship between the College and alumni, and to involve GMC alumni in meaningful volunteer efforts on behalf of the College. Your active involvement as an alumna/us is vital to promoting GMC’s distinctive education mission, our top-ranked sustainability curriculum, and sustaining the legacy of service that distinguishes GMC alumni.
