What is the teach-out plan?
A teach-out plan is a formal agreement with another institution that provides support for GMC students to transfer to that institution. Common to our teach-out plans is the waiver of application fees, guaranteed admission for students in good academic and good conduct standing, a commitment to match or get very close to GMC’s financial aid package for tuition, the acceptance of all GMC credits (even with grades lower than a “C”), and the waiver of specific academic policies or requirements.
Will my child have to pay back student loans?
Generally, if a student has private student loans, the student will still be responsible for repaying them. However, some states may have programs that assist students with private student loans in the event of a school closure if the student does not plan to continue their education. In addition, some private student lenders may offer options to assist certain borrowers in closure situations.

How do I request a copy of my child’s transcripts?
Registrar’s Office personnel can print a transcript for all eligible students or graduates through June 30th or transcripts can be obtained via the following link: https://www.parchment.com/u/registration/33082/account. After June 30th, transcripts will be available through Prescott College.
Are all of my child’s credits transferable? Do you have relationships with other schools that will accept GMC undergraduate students?
Yes. GMC is an accredited institution of higher education, so most colleges or universities in the United States will accept all credits that have a grade of “C” or better. Teach out partner schools may also accept credits with grades of “D.”
In addition to the eight teach-out partners, all of whom agree to accept all currently enrolled GMC students who are in good academic and good disciplinary standing, many other colleges have reached out and will be on campus recruiting GMC students starting February 13.

- February 13: All other colleges with an interest in recruiting GMC students.
In addition, the U.S. Department of Education has a website dedicated to providing information to students from closed schools. It can be found HERE.
Will my child receive recommendations from GMC for admittance to other schools?
For students who follow the teach-out plan, no letters of recommendation are needed. Requests for letters of recommendation will be handled on a case-by-case basis.
Will there be a graduation ceremony in Spring 2019?
GMC understands that a graduation ceremony is an event in which students look forward to and enjoy sharing with their family and friends. GMC is planning to hold Commencement on May 19 for undergraduate and graduate students and on June 8 for KSRM Commencement ceremonies.
