This new service enables students to see a health care provider without leaving campus. Telemedicine provides a confidential, live visit with a doctor using secure video and audio is available to students in the Wellness Center though BeWell.md. Care includes the diagnosis and treatment for common conditions. Lab tests can be ordered, prescriptions can be obtained and referrals can be made. Local Medical Services
The College also provides comprehensive health services through an agreement with Castleton Family Health Center (CFHC) located seven miles from the campus. CFHC is part of the Community Health Centers of the Rutland Region (CHCRR). The Castleton Family Health Center is a fully equipped medical facility with onsite x-ray and lab services. The center provides a full range of primary care and preventive services including confidential AIDS and STD testing.

The Wellness Center offers free confidential individual and group counseling to students who are experiencing difficulties that impact their personal and/or academic lives.
Our experienced, caring staff members work with students to provide supportive counseling and evidence-based psychological services. Assistance is offered to students who are interested in developing, defining, and accomplishing their personal goals. Referrals to other resources in the community are provided when needed.
The Wellness Center also offers a wide variety of free holistic wellness programming such as yoga, meditation, fitness classes and an art circle. Programs may vary semester to semester and are set based on student interest, so bring us your ideas! The Wellness Center also offers some services such as massage, personal training and chiropractic care for a small fee. Information focused on the developmental interests and needs of students is also available in our office.
Appointments are recommended, and may be arranged by calling the office at (802) 287-8376, or on a walk-in basis, depending on the availability of the counseling staff.
In the case of an emergency, the Wellness Center facilitates access to 24-hour crisis intervention services as needed.
Domestic students: Students are required to provide proof of enrollment in a health insurance program or be enrolled automatically in the program provided by the College at a designated rate.
International students: International students are required to enroll in the student health insurance program offered through the College.

Kinney Drugs Pharmacy in Castleton, VT delivers to Poultney on Tues, Wed, Thurs. in the early afternoon. For same day delivery, scripts need to be in by 12:00. If a student brings in a script from home or the home doctor calls/fax’s one in to Kinney Drugs, all subsequent refills will be delivered. Before any deliver will be made, a student must fill out a form that Kinney will keep on file. Forms are available at the Wellness Center, or the student can go to Kinney Drugs to fill it out. The Wellness Center will fax in any forms that are filled out here.
All medications will be delivered here to the Wellness Center. Students who pick up prescriptions at the Wellness Center have to prepay Kinney Drugs with a credit or debit card. If student prefers, they can meet Kinney Drugs delivery in our parking lot. If they pick them upon on delivery, they can pay the driver with cash, or check.

Green Mountain College offers a free, daily shuttle service to Castleton Family Health Center (CFHC) Monday through Friday while classes are in session. The region’s public transit system, “The Bus”, operated by the Marble Valley Regional Transit District, also provides daily round trip transportation between GMC and the CFHC.
