Please join us in thanking Melissa Markstrom ’09 and Ray Coderre ’04 for their dedicated service to the Alumni Advisory Board (AAB) and to Green Mountain College. Both Melissa and Ray served over the last year as “tri-chairs” in conjunction with Amanda Mehegan ‘09, who will be continuing on as Chair of the AAB.
Melissa joined the board in the Fall of 2014 after leading an effort to bring young alumni back to campus for an annual event in the absence of the spring concert. She continues to be instrumental in the young alumni affinity group she created called the Rogue Alumni of GMC.
Melissa also is dedicated to connecting GMC students and alumni with potential job and internship opportunities. She created a public Facebook group—the GMC Alumni Career Network—that has nearly 850 members today. Melissa has also participated in the “Making a Difference & Making a Living” (MAD) career conference at GMC and served as an admissions volunteer.
Ray’s service to the AAB began in 2007. He gave of his time and talent for nine years and returned to service again in 2017. During his tenure, he has served as the alumni representative to the Board of Trustees, volunteered for the MAD conference, served as an admissions volunteer, and co-hosted an alumni event in Boston that was open to prospective students and their parents to learn more about Green Mountain College. Ray also is an active contributor to the GMC Alumni Career Network Facebook page.
Our heartfelt thanks to you, Melissa and Ray.
